Isabelle Floch believes the source of her work is found in her passion for mixing universes, for seeking the image which will carry within it childhood dreams and a sense of mystery.
Her original style stems in her ability to meld many different techniques including the art of collages, painting, pastel, posca, pencil, reworked photographs and digital techniques. She creates composite images using the most recent technologies available to her.
Deeply inspired by Vietnamese culture, she admires the people's capacity for resilience, their dynamics, their energy, their ability to move forward, transform, their love of life, and generally admires the aptitude for metamorphosis. It largely forms the basis of her work process, each piece started will undergo an incessant transformation until its completion.
Not only a visual artist, Isabelle is also a psychoanalyst, gallery owner and author. The multiple roles she embodies all influences her creative process and surrealistic style, especially her studies done on dreams and the unconscious.
Born in 1960, Isabelle studied modern literature and clinical psychology, while taking drawing and painting lessons in parallel. She then opened her own contemporary art gallery in 2011 in Paris in the 11th, La Ralentie, allowing her to expose her work on a regular basis.
Isabelle Floch's work is exhibited at 11:11 Espace as part of the solo exhibition Metamorphic Vision from the 20th October until the 6th November !
